Jack Giba

Writer + Game Designer + Narrative Designer

Hi there! Thanks for checking out my site.
I'm a writer, game designer, and narrative designer from Pittsburgh, PA interested in designing and implementing engaging narrative gameplay mechanics and experiences to amplify storytelling in games.
Currently, I work as Narrative Lead, Lead Writer, and Producer for Courier: Dragons Within, a year-long thesis game at the University of Southern California's Interactive Media and Games Division. I also earned a certificate from Susan O'Connor's Game Writing Masterclass I, where I developed my skills in game writing and narrative design.
I hold a B.A. with Honors in English (Creative Writing Focus) from John Carroll University, along with minors in Political Science, Philosophy, and Italian Studies. During my time at JCU, I acted in theater and gained extensive writing experience through writing workshops, working for the Writing Center as a Writing Consultant, and serving as the Opinion Editor of The Carroll News.
After graduation, I worked for Brokaw Inc. as a copywriter producing work for clients across the food, wares, medical, and financial industries in the forms of social media, video, radio, transit, non-profits, and blogs.

When I'm not working, you can come save me from some Wikipedia rabbit hole, or find me enjoying a book, or on a walk, or curious about something else. I love writing/producing music, and, of course, playing games. Some of my favorites are Fallout: New Vegas, Jak & Daxter, Before Your Eyes, Assassin's Creed II, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Feel free to explore my work, see my resume and creative portfolio, and get in touch if you're interested in working together (or just want to say hey)!
